In PMwiki, you generally link to something to create it (for example, create a link to a new page to create the new page).

Following this model, to upload an image or document, create a link to it using Attach:.

To upload your pdf (or xls, or doc...) document, link to it like this: Attach:mypaper.pdf Δ

Once you've saved your page with the Attach: link, it will show a little up-arrow next to the link. Click the arrow to upload the document, which will then be linked correctly.

If you follow the same pattern with an image, it will be displayed on the page.
